Thoughts on balancing a daily routine

I recently came across this article from www.deadspin.com . its about a student who is an hour late to a class on his 1st day at Stern University. When the student enters the class an hour late, the instructor immediately dismisses him and asks him to attend the next class. The student sends the instructor and email and announcing his distaste for the way the situation was handled. The instructor in turn responded with a well written if not stern reality check for the student.
